This resource is also ideal for pupils with additional learning needs. How to use it There are two levels of worksheet to complete, both include an icon at the lower right side indicating this level. Both sheets include colours which link to the order that the sounds are taught. From top downwards - red sounds are introduced first (so should be most familiar), orange sounds are next, followed by yellow then green sounds which are the last of the Phase 2 phonics sounds. The less challenging sheet focuses on CVC words and includes ‘sound dots’ under the lines (to write on) indicating how many sounds are in each word. This sheet also has one CCVC and one CVCVC word at the end (green). This sheet displays the icon with the green figure (lower right side). The more challenging sheet focuses on words with generally more sounds or using those sounds which can be trickier to remember. This sheet displays the icon with the red figure (lower right side). There is a simple instruction at the top (for learners) and a clear space at the base of each sheet for learners to write their name and a space for the number date (top, right).
